Far Beyond the Beyond: The Evolution of James Augustus McLean

James Augustus McLean (1904-1989) was a significant, but often overlooked North Carolina artist, whose contributions to art in the state have been important and long-lasting. His output over seven decades produced a collection of work spanning every major art movement from realism to abstraction and his own creation of a naturalist approach to compositions. Coming directly from the artist’s estate, this fundraising exhibition will present works from McLean's late career, including a selection of artworks available for purchase.
