GMoA Board of Trustees President, Mark Rasdorf:

Mark has called Greenville, NC home for 10 years. He is the Director of the Dr. Jesse R. Peel LGBTQ Center at ECU, the largest center of its kind in the UNC system. He worked in marketing, communications, and general management for the performing arts for 23 years before earning a Master of Arts in Counseling from Appalachian State University in 2013. Having worked in the non-profit sector for most of his career in the performing arts, Mark considers it a privilege to lead the Board of Trustees for the Greenville Museum of Art (GMoA). In the coming year, he will capitalize on the strengths and talents of the Board, as well as the expertise and dedication of the staff, as we set the stage to mark the 90th Anniversary of the Museum in 2025.

A Message from Mark: “The arts are vital to society. Museums are living, breathing organisms that offer space for contemplation, inquiry, reflection, and learning. Public art literally enriches the landscapes of our community. With a history dating back more than 80 years, the GMoA serves eastern North Carolina through award-winning exhibitions, educational programming, and community events.

GMoA supports student artists through partnerships with ECU’s School of Art and Design and Pitt Community College and nurturing young artists and lifelong learners through workshops and camps.

GMoA continues to expand the vision first set forth by Rachel Maxwell Moore in 1935. I hope you will consider becoming a Greenville Museum of Art member.”
